After the success of the first editions of 2016, 2017 and 2018, Varese Design Week is back, from 5 to 9 April 2019.
PAST TO FUTURE Without past there’s no future. One eye on the past – the culture of doing and the experience acquired throughout the years – and the other on the future – towards new technologies and research. VDW2019 intends to create a bridge connecting tradition and innovation in order to boost the realities of the territory.
With the 2019 edition, VDW aims at enhancing culture and territory promotion, maintaining its consolidated synergies with local realities, associations, public institutions and professionals and seeking to create a bridge with akin realities, so as to nurture communication in order that this event attains a large scale popularity, bringing cultural interest in the whole city.
Varese Design Week is a cultural event – promoted by the City of Varese, the Province of Varese and the Varesotto Foundation – born to create a dialogue between the world of design and the city of Varese. It’s an event which is a point of reference for professionals, as well as all for those who love art, culture, design, fashion, food. In fact speaking, discussing, circulating information is an intelligent and creative way of bringing value into our city, fostering contaminations and a free flow of ideas. It’s an important showcase for DESIGNERS and COMPANIES that have the opportunity to present their realizations within a circuit which is closely linked to creativity, design, and industrial object production.
Which are the goals of vdw?
Bring the city of Varese onto the Italian and International Design Stage.
Contribute to the city’s tourism and commercial growth, involving high profile personalities who shall add prestige and visibility to the Garden City, much loved by people, yet still little known.
Be a reference event not only for professionals, but also for all those who love the manifold applications of design, art, fashion and food: an active and dynamic way of communicating to our city, bringing culture and value.
